A joker command is a code in the game that recognizes when you push any one of the controller's buttons. This code allows you to set a code to be activated when the button is pushed. Such as is you wanted a code to make you fly but you did not want to fly all of the time in the game you could put the games joker command in front of the code which allows you to fly and set it to whatever button you want.
Every game has a joker command and any code can be activated with a joker command. If you have a GameShark Pro version 3.0 or higher you can use the Universal joker command that is programmed into your GS. The universal joker command is D4000000 ????. If you do not have a GS Pro then you will have to find the joker command in the game.
The best way to find a joker command for a game is to use a known value search. Most games use Normal joker command quantity digits. Those are the digits that tell the code which button is being pressed. They replace the four question marks in the joker command. This is a list of the quantity digits for all types of joker commands. Some games may not use the Normal quantity digits so if you cannot find the code using the normal try the other quantity digits instead.

D00125F8 ???? followed by the code number of the button you want to activate the number by (like to activate a code with a press of L2 is 0001 so you would put that in). But activate that code. Next reset it. And go to the game that you were playing.I think you press R1 to view the code you put in. You put that code in the first line (with the example:) D00125F8 0001 and on the second line below you put the code for the game (anything lives, bullets, whatever). Then start the game to test it.So when you are in the game you can press the L2 and your code is activated. I think that was a little harder than the rest.
This method uses the Normal quantifier digits as examples.
Example code usage:
80012345 0001 code for renewing ammo supply
To be able to renew your ammo to full on command choose a button to set your code to (for this instance we will use L1 using Normal Quantifier digits).
So this is how the code would be put into your GameShark using the GS Pro universal joker command:
D4000000 0004
80012345 0001
(The 0004 are the quantity digits for the button L1)
