Q.What is GameSharkCD V2.0???
A.GameShark is a cheat cartridge which unlocks levels and secrets to games.
It offers all levels, infinite money and other stuff by inputting codes into the game.
However, with the new 900X PSX's they have removed the serial port on the back and the cartridge can no longer be used. Soon they will be bringing out a new version of thier cartridge which fits into the memory card of all PSX's but both these methods cost money. This image can be burned back to a cd using CDRWIN, Hotburn or any other BIN/CUE programs. This will then emulate a cartridge on you playstation to input the codes.
Q.Will it make it so no MOD-Chip is needed?
A.No, there are myths going round that it can defeat the protection on all PSX's discs it can't. However, it can make it so that a backed up game, which checks to see if there is a MOD chip and if so stops, will play by using the correct code. Examples are Dino Crisis and Final Fantasy 8. YOU MUST HAVE A MOD-CHIP INSTALLED TO USE THIS CD!!!!
Q.After inputting a code for a game, the codes can be very long will I need to input them over and over again each time i play?
A.Nope, the program can save the codes to one free memory block on a PSX memory card. This will then mean you load from the memory card to save you inputting the code for the game each time.
Q.Will it use all codes?
A.No, sorry. It will only use whatever version CD you have. Also i know of no way to use it with multiple cheats. I tried for a couple of games with a master code and then inputted the others, this had no luck. I was unsure as it may have been my internal video card interfering with it.
So you think it will be alright for you and you have burned that small image on to a disc, but what do you do now??? I will take you through the game with V2 gameshark cd and one Bust a move 2 arcade edition code.
1. The first screen will be blue with lots of unmeaningful text on. Just press the circle button and you will be presented with the menu system.
2. Menu explanation:
Game Start: When you have entered/loaded the code press this and the code will be used and you will be asked to insert the game cd in.
Code Edit: Edit a current or loaded code.
Code Save Memory Card: Save the current code to memory card.
Code Load Memory Card: Load a code from the memory card.
Top Secret: Can't get this to work :-(
3. Right you have the GameShark cd loaded and now want to get using it. Unfortunately due to poor programming (well i would say that) they have given you no option to use multiple codes or to save the game with a proper name. The multiple code thing did not work for me on Diablo, it is untested and may work. All the codes have to be entered on one screen, this is not like a cartridge as they allow you to enter many different codes, i.e. health and level under different sections. With the CD you will need to enter all the codes on the same screen, as far as i am aware, if different please e-mail me and i will update this file with reference to you. This may limit it to the use of certain games as i said Diablo was unsuccessful for me.
Right go to the Code Edit section and press Circle. This will allow you to enter the code, you may have to press circle again to get to the keypad. Right now enter the following code:
80153238 0001
This will enable the aiming line in all levels. Enter each digit and press circle, when you have done press X, then press X, again to leave. Now go to Code Save Memory Card and select a level. This will save the code (so write down what game for what section). Now go to the load option and load it to test it has saved.
4.Now you need to go to Game Start. This will ask you to remove the gameshark CD and enter the game CD, in this case Bust a Move 2 Arcade Edition. Now close the CD lid and hit Circle. The game should load. If like in Diablo for me, the screen sticks on Bootfile loading for over a minute i'd say the code will not work, sorry.
